Trans-Ocean Import Company announced it has moved into the IHFC. The company, which has been a fixture at the High Point Market for 25 years, moved from Market Square into the IHFC’s Green Wing, spaces G365 and G367.

“We will have two showrooms,” said Charley Peck, President. “Trans Ocean (Green Wing, G365) will show the traditionally constructed, fashion-forward rug line which has products designed by Liora Manne, Tommy Bahama and inspired by the Winterthur Museum.  The Liora Manne showroom (Green Wing, G367) will feature the Lamontage Process which includes rugs, placemats, decorative pillows and some coordinating fashion accessories.”

The company, founded more than a century ago, has a long tradition as a leading distributor of fashion rugs. It was the first company to import rugs from China after trade resumed and, in 1997, entered into a licensing agreement with Liora Manne to design a line of fashion forward, soft, contemporary

rugs using traditional constructions. “I believe that most people in our industry would agree Liora's design sensibility fundamentally changed the rug business,” Peck said.

In 2006 the company began producing Liora's Lamontage process in China. “Now we have a vertically integrated factory that is not only making the rug products for stocking and custom programs, but placemats we introduced in 2007, a washable mat program we introduced in 2009, and a decorative pillow program we introduced in Las Vegas in February 2010.”

Opening in 1921, IHFC was the original showroom building in High Point and after 89 years of expansion remains the centerpiece of the world’s largest home-furnishings trade show that attracts more than 80,000 participants twice a year to 2,000 showrooms covering 11.5 million square feet. IHFC alone is home to 500 of the leading home-furnishings manufacturers, including 13 of the top 20 companies, and covers 3.5 million square feet.
