The Norwegian furniture maker Stordal announced that it has opened its first store in China, at the JSWB Global Home Furnishings Center in Shanghai. The store, which is run by Stordal’s newly appointed importer to China, opened on 24th July.
Along with a large gathering of invited guests, the opening ceremony was attended by the Norwegian Consul General as well as the Danish Consul General; the Chairman and President of JSWB; Hakon Rydland from Stordal; and Zhu Jiankun from Golden Valley Pte Ltd.
H.E. Mr. Fred H. Nomme, the Norwegian Consul General to Shanghai, praised the bold efforts of Stordal, and was impressed by the design and layout of the store which underlines the Stordal slogan of “Nordic Living”.
Hakon Rydland, Stordal’s International Director of Marketing, who was earlier the Executive Vice President of JSWB in China, gave thanks to JSWB, the Importer, as well as his Chinese staff, for their efforts in having the store successfully opened on time.
The 1,400 sq. ft. store has on display the Stordal collection called DesigNature, which includes 8 recliners and 4 matching sofa sets.
Stordal’s importer is a Hong Kong based company that has already appointed its first Stordal dealer outside of Shanghai. This store will soon open in Ningbo, a large city some 220 miles south of Shanghai.
