Designer Nadia Geller, known for her enchanting and colorful surprise room makeovers on TLC’s television program, “While You Were Out,” will be dispensing her expertise to the public for three days at the upcoming Midwest Home Expo. A consumer show, the Midwest Home Expo will be held April 29 to May 1 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont and is produced by the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago. Over the course of the Midwest Home Expo, Geller will present her design tips and ideas for creating imaginative and vibrant room transformations. She’ll entertain and educate the audience with innovative ideas on easy window treatments, inexpensive accessories to warm up a new home, and creating simple mosaic projects on furniture. She’ll also work with the audience by answering their questions and helping them with the decorating and design challenges they find in their own homes. All under one roof, the Midwest Home Expo is set up to be a one-stop shopping marketplace for new homes, the communities in which they are built, and the products and services that go into them. For example, attendees can see and touch the latest in kitchen and bath appliances, learn about the newest communities where homes are being constructed, and even shop around for mortgage companies onsite. Special “Ask the Experts” sessions will give attendees the chance to talk one-on-one with remodelers, interior designers and builders to get ideas for their own homes or brainstorm solutions for their own home projects. A very special feature of the show will be the Home Builders Dream House. Constructed onsite for the Expo, the Dream House will feature all the newest gadgetry and technology being built into new homes today. From concert-quality home theater systems, to elegant spa master baths, to the most up-to-date in plumbing and electrical work, the Dream House will incorporate all of the latest in products and technology to give attendees a sense of what can be accomplished in their own homes or in a new home. “We’ve got some of the finest home building industry talent in the nation exhibiting at our show and many of our exhibitors happen to be our members too,” said Peter Schwartz, CEO of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago (HBAGC) based in Addison. “We’re looking forward to having a lot of fun with this show,” he said, “and we think the public will too.” The HBAGC has been hosting housing industry tradeshows in Rosemont over the last few years and made the decision to expand into the consumer market since new homes and home makeovers are so popular these days, Schwartz said. “We have seen such strong interest in the Chicagoland area for a large, centrally located consumer home expo, so we decided to host one,” Schwartz said. “Our Association members build about 80 percent of the new homes in this area so it’s only natural that we put on a show,” he explained. For more information or to exhibit please contact the Midwest Home Expo at 630/627-7575 or visit http://www.midwesthomeexpo.com. ### The Midwest Home Expo is a housing tradeshow for consumers with new home, community and remodeling interests.
