Kincaid Product Catalog Recognized With Design Award

The Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) recently awarded the Artisan's Shoppe catalog from Kincaid with the 2005 Award of Excellence. The Artisan's Shoppe catalog was the top entry in a category open to catalogs of more than 32 pages, printed in four or more colors. Featuring beautiful room scene and vignette photography, the Kincaid catalog effectively showcases bedroom, dining room and living room pieces from this collection, which draws inspiration from the timeless traditions passed down among generations of artists. The catalog is constructed of heavy cardstock covers, glossy photo pages and a translucent vellum overlay imprinted with the design philosophy of the collection. "We wanted a look for this catalog that truly embodies the qualities of the Artisan's Shoppe collection - refined simplicity, elegance and traditional details that echo the past," said Rashelle Wilson with Kincaid's Creative Systems. "The catalog does a great job of evoking an entire lifestyle among consumers, and ensuring that they understand the inspiration behind the collection. " Wilson provided overall design direction and management for the development of the Artisan's Shoppe catalog, while the Paragon Design Group of Hudson, N.C., handled design and layout. The Tribuzio Hilliard Studio of Greensboro, N.C., coordinated all photography and color selections, and the catalogs were printed by Hutchinson Allgood Printing Co. of Winston-Salem, N.C. The latter company actually took home the PICA Award of Excellence for its superior printing of the Artisan's Shoppe catalog for client Kincaid Furniture. PICA is a trade association based in Charlotte, N.C., which has served the local printing industry since 1931. It is an affiliate of the Printing Industries of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF). The PICA Awards annually honor the best-of-the-best in print media excellence throughout the Carolinas. Since 1966, they have been the premier symbol of excellence for the graphics industry in this region.
