Acknowledging the importance of continuity in a growing family business in an industry impacted by a changing global economy and manufacturing overseas, CORY Home Delivery is turning over day-to-day operations and responsibilities to the third generation of Cory leaders. Announcement of the restructuring of senior management was made by Joe and Jim Cory, CEO and President, respectively, whose father, Joseph Cory, founded the company in Brooklyn, New York in 1934. The transition to the third generation of family management places sons Joe Cory, Jr., 42; Kevin Cory, 40; and Patrick Cory, 37, at the helm of the company that serves retailers nationwide. All grandsons of founder Joseph Cory, the three men are industry veterans with diverse talents and backgrounds. Joe Cory, Jr. will now lead operations in the Southeast and Southwest; Kevin Cory will head up the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Mid-West; and Patrick Cory will lead the company’s sales, marketing, and quality programs. “This represents the first step in our formal plan to transition the company to the next generation of family leadership,” says CEO Joe Cory. “Jim and I will remain actively involved in the business and guide Joe, Jr., Kevin, and Patrick in their new responsibilities. Planning for the continued growth and success of our company, as well as that of our clients, is essential.” CORY continues to grow at a rapid pace, adding new clients to its roster that include El Dorado Furniture in Miami and Bassett Direct Furniture in South Florida. The company has also expanded operations in additional markets with long-time clients, including Ethan Allen in South Florida, Pittsburgh, and North Carolina; Rooms To Go in Mobile and San Antonio; Kane’s Furniture in Florida; and Best Buy in Minneapolis, Miami, and Tampa. “We look forward to partnering with clients to offer the highest level of service customers expect and deserve,” says Joe Cory. “Joe, Kevin, and Patrick are well prepared to continue the company’s drive for quality and growth.” Based in Jersey City, New Jersey, CORY serves markets throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. One of the largest and oldest specialized home delivery companies in America, CORY dispatches a modern fleet of more than 500 customized delivery vehicles daily and operates in more than 60 locations and 600,000 square feet of warehouse space.
