WithIt “It’s a Material World” High Point Seminar - New Location

WithIt plans its popular Competitive Intelligence event during this month’s High Point Market, open to all Market attendees, on Thursday, October 19 at 6:00 p.m. Today the organization announced a new location for the event, as well as the roster of panelists. Previously scheduled to be held at Market on Green building, the new venue will be Whitewood Furniture Industries located at 215 South Main Street in High Point. Impact Consulting Services and Furniture Fan will co-host the event, which includes a wine reception. The theme for the October 2006 session, “It’s a Material World,” will focus on new finishes, textures, fabrics, reclaimed and unusual materials, and “green” design components. Moderator Kathy Wall, president, The Media Matters, Inc., and 2006 president of WithIt, will lead a group of panelists who will discuss notable trends each has observed during the preceding days of the Market. Of special interest will be their reports on the use of new textures, fabrics, and mixed media materials in furniture production, as well how the growing design movement using “green” materials is being embraced by manufacturers exhibiting at the High Point Market. This year’s panelists include Betty Lyn Eller, advertising manager for O at Home magazine; Lorna Hunter, general manager for contemporary retailer, Cantoni; and Mike Hodges, international sales & marketing for Valspar.
