Brazil Baroque has announced that it will be opening a stunning new showroom at the Las Vegas World Market Center. The company's founder and designer, Andrea Fonseca says, "We are looking forward to being a permanent fixture at World Market Center and are very excited about this new phase of our growth." Ms. Fonseca, a native of Rio de Janeiro, is a formally trained architect and designer whose small beginnings in this country have led her to head a company in Santa Barbara that has become the leading US importer of handcrafted furnishings from recycled antique Brazilian hardwoods. Each piece of Brazil Baroque furniture is painstakingly hand crafted from rare hardwoods reclaimed from abandoned 18th and 19th century estates and haciendas located throughout the Brazilian countryside. Built on site, these structures were crafted from some of the most exotic woods that Brazil has to offer. Today, skilled artisans and craftsmen transform former walls, floors and ceilings into original one-of-a-kind works of art, including chairs, hutches, tables, beds, lighting, flooring, architectural elements and more. Says Ms. Fonseca, "The furniture has to be beautiful, provocative and meaningful. Years of use and distress have beautifully marked the timbers we use, giving each piece its unique character, charm and beauty--no new woods are ever used in our products. We are a company that strives to be more socially and environmentally responsible by using processes that cause little or no harm to the environment and we are committed to protecting Brazil's rainforests by using reclaimed woods. To keep to this high level of standard, we are constantly looking for new environmentally friendly methods and techniques to use in the manufacturing process." The new showroom will feature a cross section of the 1500+ meticulously handcrafted items it manufactures.
