Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio is an innovator in bringing creative seminars and lectures to its customers. Recently, Gabberts hosted the “Wine is Pleasure” event featuring some of the world’s finest wine and focused the conversation on pleasure. The event, held at Gabberts Fine Furniture and Design Studio in the Galleria in Edina, drew more than 100 guests who spent the evening learning about the similarities between fine wine and exquisite furniture design in an atmosphere that encouraged conversation, laughter, and enlightenment. The event, co-sponsored by Century Furniture, was led by world-renowned wine maker Jean-Noël Fourmeaux. Born into a family of generations of wine makers in the Bordeaux region of France, Fourmeaux now owns wineries in Napa Valley, Argentina, and Spain. He holds the title of “The Official Wine Taster” in France, one of the most prestigious political appointments in the country. While his wines are consistently top rated picks by the Wine Spectator, he is adamant that wine, like furniture is not about a technical score. “They are about pleasure,” said Fourmeaux. “At their best, fine wine and fine furniture appeal to your soul and your senses.” Fourmeaux is committed to helping people see beyond labels, awards, and price and helping them embrace wine as a sensual experience.
