Free High Point Transportation To Begin Weekend Before Market

The High Point Market Authority will offer free transportation services the weekend before Market begins in order to accommodate the needs of sales representatives, exhibitors and others who are in town prior to the official start of Market on March 26th. “The weekend before the opening day of Market is a busy one for exhibitors and sales reps,” says Brian D. Casey, President and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “By offering shuttles from area airports and other basic transportation services on Saturday and Sunday, we are seeking to meet the needs of these important Market constituents and simplifying the Market experience for everyone involved.” The transportation services offered by the High Point Market Authority are available at no cost to riders. On Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25, the following services will be operating: Free Airport Shuttles: Shuttle service to downtown High Point from the Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) will run every 30 minutes from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shuttles from the Raleigh and Charlotte airports are also available, as usual, by reservation only. Park and Ride: The South Park & Ride lot (on Market Center Drive) will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with shuttles running on a continuous basis. Passengers will be taken to the downtown Transportation Terminal in the heart of the Market area. Return rides leave from the Transportation Terminal as well. Market Shuttles: Limited service will be available Saturday and Sunday from Downtown High Point to hotels, airports and private homes. Beginning Monday morning, March 26, the Market’s complete, free transportation services swing into action. Shuttles depart from the Market Transportation Terminal in downtown High Point and the Greensboro / Piedmont Triad International Airport approximately every 30 minutes from 8:00am until 7:00pm Saturday (until 5:00 on Sunday). Shuttles will continue to service the Charlotte and Raleigh airports by reservation only. Market Shuttles will offer Park and Ride service from two lots. The Downtown Showroom Shuttles transport market-goers anywhere in the central Market district, taking them every showroom, event or seminar. Shuttles are also available to transport guests to outlying showrooms. Free shuttles are provided to and from more than 110 hotels in the Triad area. And for those whose destination isn’t included on standard routes, the Go-Anywhere shuttles will take you anywhere within a three-mile radius of the High Point City limits.
