BDM + Furniture Inc. Purchases Dining Manufacturer Mi-Di

BDM + Furniture Inc. just added a third division to its company. With the purchase of Mi-Di, BDM + Furniture Inc. counts three dining room divisions (Bermex and Dinec already being well-known in United States). Launched in 1989, Mi-Di manufactures solid-birch casual and formal dining furniture in contemporary, traditional and transitional styles and operates as a separate division of Bermex and Dinec who have their own sales force for the manufacturing and distributing of their products. Negotiations for purchasing Mi-Di started two years ago when Mi-Di's key owner was looking to retire and the deal concluded last month, confirmed Bermex President Daniel Walker. Mi-Di sells about $10 million CAD annually, mostly in Canada, said Bermex President, Daniel Walker, and the next step is to conquer the USA market. Mi-Di specializes in customized dining room furniture which are available with multiple choices of components and finishes. Discussions have been undertaken as to know if the Mi-Di brand would be introduced to United States at the High Point and Las Vegas markets or the company will be branded under a new name before doing so.
