The Western Home Furnishings Association (WHFA) and National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) announced an expanded education series for the Las Vegas Market. “More time” was the overwhelming request by retailer attendees at January’s seminars in the Retailer Resource Center (RRC). “We have listened to the retailers needs and have responded by expanding our Academy sessions to 90 minutes,” said Cindi Williams, RRC Manager and WHFA Director of Events. The Academy series represents WHFA’s higher level education series for home furnishings retailers. Academy sessions at Market, July 30-August 3, 2007 will feature exceptional speakers in the RRC daily from 10:00-11:30 a.m. with a specific focus on consumer habits. “Trying to see their businesses from the outside-in will be an exciting journey for retailers and all market attendees,” states Williams. “Devoting an additional 30 minutes to this type of dynamic learning will make a huge difference in the depth of the subject and ultimately the take-a-way needed to make sweeping changes in operations,” stated Williams. “Educating retailers is one key component to keeping them viable in the marketplace. The Association is listening and responding,” stated Williams. The WHFA is offering an additional 23 seminars during the July Market in Las Vegas at its state-of-the art facilities in the RRC, Building B, 16th Floor, #1630. The free seminars cover a variety of topics, including how to market when the customer is in control, becoming a great coach for your sales team and the inside secrets of charismatic retailers. In addition to the expanded market sessions, the Academy series offers regional training twice a year within the 12 western states that WHFA represents. Scott Toland, well-known public speaker and author with over 20 years of marketing experience will be the featured presenter at WHFA’s Fall Academy Series: Step-by-Step Marketing & Advertising to be held September 20, 2007 in Roseville, CA.
