Buying Group of 100 Decorators to Tour Las Vegas Market

World Market Center announced that the largest buying group registered for Las Vegas Market this year, national interior decorating franchisor Decor&You® (http://www.decorandyou.com), tours with 100 decorators from 30 states to celebrate its tenth year in business. Their itinerary features a talk by Mary Gilliatt, the internationally-acclaimed British designer and author of 47 books on design. Gilliatt will also officially announce the winners of the Decor&You 2008 National Design Awards, immediately preceding her talk, at 11 a.m. (PDT) on Thurs., July 31, 2008, Building B, 16th floor. The event is open to the public and press. The market’s prestige persuaded CEO Karen Powell to move the franchise’s national conference to Vegas this year, to mark the anniversary milestone. “As the most important, up-and-coming design market in the world, the Las Vegas World Market is the perfect venue for a stylish celebration of ten years in the design business, and a special way to reflect on the accomplishments of Decor&You decorators,” said Powell. Her presentation, “Design in Common: Global Trends in Today’s Residential Interiors,” offers a visual journey around the world, based on her extensive travels and design work for an international clientele of British royalty and American celebrities. Gilliatt has observed, “Despite the global economic gloom, from Milan to New York, London to Sydney, LA to Paris, Auckland to Dubai, Madrid to Singapore and Provence to Hong Kong, it’s a ‘Living Well is the Best Revenge’ retort. Interiors have more finesse and detail, a greater sense of luxury and a bit of fantasy.” Decor&You will be easy to spot, distinguished by lime-colored totes made of recycled fibers, sponsored by green-design advocate, Century Furniture.
