The non-profit Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) announced that Sealy has joined the organization which helps educate consumers, retailers and manufacturers on “The Future of Sleep.” "We welcome Sealy, the top mattress company in the United States, to the Specialty Sleep Association,” said Dale Read, president. “This demonstrates Sealy's commitment to the innovation and technology that represents ‘The Future of Sleep.’ Sealy can be added to the growing list of major companies, as well as specialty sleep firms, focused on bringing about the next generation in sleep technology." “Sealy is excited to announce its partnership with the Specialty Sleep Association,” said Cindy Wenger, vice president of marketing, specialty bedding for Sealy. “We consider our specialty segment a huge growth opportunity for the company. It will only strengthen Sealy’s leadership position in the industry.” “Sealy is committed to developing specialty sleep systems that help the world sleep better,” continues Wenger. “We are the only manufacturer to have our own latex plant to conduct proprietary research and further technology in the specialty segment. In May, we launched the Sealy Posturepedic® PurEmbrace, which uses our proprietary Smart Latex™ to adapt perfectly to the body while providing pushback support and breathability for a cool and comfortable sleep.” Over the past several months, the SSA has succeeded in attracting other new members to its group, such as 1-800-Mattress, TempurPedic, Leggett & Platt, Englander, Natura World, Hollandia, Lilly Management, Comfortaire, and Latex International, among others. Founded in 1995, the Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) is a national not-for-profit advocacy and education association of retailers, manufacturers and suppliers who develop, manufacture, market and sell innovative, new technology mattress and bedding products including viscous-elastic memory foam, latex rubber, air, flotation, gel, adjustable, futons and convertible beds, (green) natural, all-natural and organic beds made from soy, bamboo, wool, 100% cotton as well as bed frames, pillows, sheets, comforters, duvets, body pillows, fabric guards and more. Retailers and manufacturers interested in membership in the SSA should contact SSA Executive Director Tambra Jones, (559) 868-4187 or (559) 676-8639. Visit www.sleepinformation.org.
