Arlington-based General Contractor Bob Moore Construction has been selected to build the 1,000,000 square foot Rooms To Go Distribution Center in Houston, Texas. This project will be located on the south side of Interstate 10 between the cities of Katy and Brookshire, just west of downtown Houston. The main building will be 988,000 square feet; the project includes a stand alone trailer maintenance building that will be 12,000 square feet. Rooms To Go will act as their own developer for this project; MacGregor Associates Architects, Inc. from Atlanta, Georgia is the architect. Bob Moore Construction was selected for the Rooms To Go distribution center in Houston after a competitive bidding process in December and January. Ground breaking is expected to take place in February, 2009 and is projected to take 11 months to complete. The Houston distribution center is the second project Bob Moore Construction has been chosen to build for Rooms To Go. In 2003-2004 the Arlington-based general contractor completed the 851,000 SF Rooms To Go distribution center on State Highway 360 in Arlington, Texas (pictured to the right). The new distribution center is the latest in a long history of projects in this region in Texas. It comes on the heels of more than 1.5 million square feet of successful distribution center, flex-tech center and retail facilities built by Bob Moore Construction in south / central Texas in the past several years. "We're excited to have the opportunity to build the new distribution center for Rooms To Go," said Ed McGuire, Vice President of Construction for Bob Moore Construction. "The distribution center we built in Arlington is a showpiece property and we anticipate the new facility in South Texas will be every bit as impressive. Our previous experience with the professionals at Rooms To Go was very positive, and we look forward to working with their representatives Harmon Jones, Senior Vice President of Construction and Bruce Wallick, Senior Construction Manager on the Houston project in the coming months.
