American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation Elects Catherine Silver to Board of Directors

The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. announced that it has elected Catherine Silver to its Board of Directors. Silver is president of Progressive Business Media (a division of BridgeTower Media), the premier business media and communications company in the home furnishings arena with brands that deliver content and research in print, online and at live conferences and events. Its publications include Furniture Today, Casual Living and Kids Today, among others.
“Catherine is passionate and knowledgeable about every facet of the home furnishings industry, and we are thrilled that she brings her enthusiasm, leadership and insight to the Hall of Fame,” says David Gebhart, Hall of Fame board president. “We are committed to representing the entire industry with a diverse board that includes retailers and manufacturers of furniture, home accents, bedding and fabrics as well as industry service providers.”
Silver, a 33-year veteran of the media and entertainment industries, has come full circle from her days in the early 1990s as advertising director of Furniture Today. Prior to rejoining Progressive Business Media in 2017, she was vice president of ballpark enterprises and guest services for the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball team. She has also served in executive positions at Variety, Red Herring and WebMD, and was the CEO and owner of Baseball America.
