Furniture World News Desk on 11/22/2019

Expansion in specialty categories is driving growth in the temporary collection of The Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market® reports International Market Centers (IMC). The January 15-19, 2020 trade show adds 400 new exhibitors with overall growth in stationery and paper resources as well as specific gains in three more product categories: On Trend Gifts, Gourmet Foods and Boutique. In total, the market will present 3,300 temporary gift and home exhibitors in 31 distinct product neighborhoods including a redesigned Seasonal/Gift collection.

“Retailers will find exciting, trend-driven products that will make their merchandise standout in the Atlanta market’s temporary collections,” said Jo Ann Miller Marshall, IMC executive vice president, president of Trade Shows. “Our careful curation of product categories makes it easier for retailers to find the unique brands and products they need for success."

Stationery and paper are a growing vertical at the market, expanding by 25 percent year-over-year to nearly 100 brands showing a mix of product including greeting cards, custom invitations and imprintables, gift wrap, journals, planners, notebooks and more. Found across ten neighborhoods, highlights include new brands Katie Kime (paper goods and gifts in custom prints), Kitty Meow (luxury paper and party goods), Krystal Whitten (hand-lettered and hand-painted art prints), Portico Designs (design-led stationery, gifts, calendars and greeting cards) and The Social Type (greeting cards, paper goods and matchboxes).

Three specific neighborhoods also are posting significant growth. On Trend Gifts – an internationally influenced juried collection of design-driven, contemporary gift items – doubles to 90 booths highlighted by newcomers Pinch Provisions (personal care kits), Helinox (lightweight portable furniture) and Muzen Audio (retro-inspired speakers). Growth in the Gourmet Foods collection is driven by an expanded Georgia Grown Pavilion, which features more than 30 booths showcasing products made and harvested across the state of Georgia including Backyard Safari (Covington), Braswell Food Co.(Statesboro), Southern Pawz Pets (Davisboro) and Southern Straws Cheese Straws (Columbus). The Boutique collection, of nearly 140 brands, adds six luxury jewelry and accessories vendors: Abby May (jewelry), Bluegrass Belts (equestrian-inspired leather goods), Diomi (ready to wear cashmeres, fur trimmed coats, fur coats and accessories), Lola & Company (handcrafted pendants, bracelets, cuff-links, rings and other jewelry), Pink Pineapple (cashmere) and Yatra Collection (India-inspired women's apparel and accessories).

Following its recent rebrand, the Seasonal / Gift collection features a new look and feel that better showcases its seasonal décor and faux botanicals. Highlights of the collection include new exhibitors Characters Unlimited, Inc. (life-sized, mechanically animated and talking characters), Creative International Exports (handmade holiday gifts), Glassware Art Studio (handmade glass ornaments), Harrow and Green (personalized Santa stocking and sacks), HoHoHo2o (Christmas tree watering systems) and Holiday Supply (commercial holiday décor).

Buyers are able to discover new trend-driven products in an expanded and redesigned New Exhibitor vignette on Building 2, Floor 2. The vignette features best sellers, new introductions and signature items from exhibitors making their Atlanta market debut in January 2020.
