Cascade Furniture Joins Furniture First

The Furniture First board of directors closed 2020 with the addition of a 13th new member, Cascade Furniture in Vancouver, Washington.

Cascade Furniture was founded as a multi-generational family business in 1997 by Jon Wright and his late father-in-law, Chris Boskind. Wright operates the business today with his wife, Dawne, and hopes their daughter will join the enterprise after completing her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. A four-time winner of “Best of Clark County,” Cascade believes in the principle of "doing the right thing" for customers and our community, focusing on great customer service, quality, and great value, while giving back to their community.

“Despite the chaos that was 2020, we had a good bit of growth in membership,” said Andrew Kauffman, CEO of Furniture First. “Our value proposition goes up when business conditions are tough. Kauffman remarked that in addition to rebate dollars, many members cite the networking that the group supports as one of the biggest benefits of membership. He went on to say “The need for a sounding board for advice and the insights of fellow retailers brings our members together. They value that camaraderie as much as the rebate dollars we payout. Without our regular markets, we are doing what we can to enhance and grow member-to-member connections.”

Kauffman stated that the board of directors and staff spent a recent strategic planning session strategizing on how to boost member engagement even more. The group’s online bulletin board, town hall calls, and performance groups were all topics of discussion in the session. Kauffman himself has been sending weekly video messages to the membership, calling out vendor specials, relaying important PPP application details, and highlighting supply chain issues and the resultant need to manage customer expectations.
