Serta Simmons' Gordon Hecht Gives Back with Tunnels to Towers Fundraiser

September 11, 2021 will mark  the 20th anniversary of World Trade Center attack.  Each year the charitable organization known as "Tunnels 2 Towers" commemorates the bravery of NY Firefighter Stephen Siller with a fundraising run. In NY, the event follows the path Siller took when he ran through the streets of Brooklyn and through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers (in full pack) to rescue people trapped in the buildings.  He lost his life that day.

Gordon Hecht, Senior Manager-In Store Concepts for Serta Simmons Bedding and a frequent editorial contributor to Furniture World Magazine (click here to see them), has followed in Siller's exact footsteps in past years.  This year he will join 1,000 people in St. Augustine, Florida to run the same distance. Similar runs throughout the US will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11 as well.

Gordon's hopes to raise  at least $2,001 to benefit Tunnels 2 Towers with 100 donations of $20.01 each.

In addition, the organization provides full mortgage pay-off and college scholarships for the survivors of first responders killed in the line of duty.
