Furniture of America Expands Headquarters, Acquires New Warehouse

Furniture of America announced that it has acquired another warehouse facility in close proximity to their Southern California headquarters in the San Gabriel Valley. Situated along the CA-60 Highway, the 500,000 square foot building will increase the total capacity of the Industry distribution center alone to over 1 million square feet.

Anticipated for a late fall opening this year, the new warehouse will be the base of operations for their E-Commerce division. “Efficiency is key when it comes to fulfillment, and we currently face the same issues as every other company out there,” says Ronald Kuo, Director of E-commerce. “The goal for this move is to minimize transfer of goods so that we can focus on delivering the best experience to our online retail partners.”

Rocky Young, Director of Marketing, recognizes the unusual timing of the expansion. “Upsizing does come with significant risks especially at a time like this,” he says. “But like many challenges we’ve faced before as a growing company, we see this as another opportunity to prepare for incoming inventory and future demand. We’re betting big on the resiliency of the furniture industry and like everyone else, we are optimistic that we’ll get back to normal soon. When that time comes, we hope to be in a much better position to serve the needs of our local dealers and drop-ship customers.”

This is the fifth expansion for the full-line resource group in as little as ten years. Other branches in Dallas, Fresno, Atlanta, and Secaucus all have undergone similar developments to accommodate growing demand. Furniture of America now maintains a total of over 2,000,000 sq ft of total warehouse space across the United States.
