Mattress manufacturer Southerland announced that it has opened a more than 10,000-square-foot showroom inside its new Nashville manufacturing plant. The new showroom is more than triple the size of Southerland’s other showrooms located at five of its six production and distribution facilities across the U.S. The new space allows the company to display 80 products for its retail partners to see a broader depth of Southerland’s brands. Combined with the new Nashville showroom, the regional brand experience spaces now total nearly 25,000 square feet nationwide.
To inaugurate the new space, Southerland has been hosting retailers for private product showings and tours of the new manufacturing facility.
“When we opened our new state-of-the-art manufacturing center, our intent was to use the facility for more than just production, but also as a complete showcase for our current and prospective dealers to experience the full bandwidth of what we have to offer,” said Bryan Smith, president and CEO of Southerland. “We look forward to welcoming current and future customers to the new showroom and a new product innovation center we are creating, to fully experience all our brand has to offer them.”
Among the new products Southerland will present in the showroom is the revamp of its American Sleep line, which includes hybrids and two-sided mattresses. The company will also highlight its successful Signature Hybrid and ThermoBalance® collections, which are made with premium materials such as copper-infused latex, gel-infused memory foam and temperature-regulating technologies that promote better sleep health. Also on display will be Southerland’s adjustable bed bases, including its one-piece king.
In addition to the new display space, the company is also in the process of developing a product innovations lab, a dedicated workspace where the focus is to enhance the technologies and innovations Southerland uses in its manufacturing. The company has also planned to move its research-and-development teams, corporate offices, its wholly owned transportation company, Southerland Transport, its American Adjustable division line of motion bases and is expanding its iBnB roll-pack line into the new facility.
The 318,000-square-foot Nashville factory is double the size of its previous two manufacturing plants in the city. It has enabled Southerland to increase its production capacity by more than one-third and has allowed the company to add 40 jobs to its workforce.
