Snooze Mattress Company announced it awarded its first franchise on June 4th 2021, and in less than six months has sold an additional 17 franchises around the US, with its first store opening on February 5th in Phoenix, AZ.
“Why Snooze? It’s the people,” said Keith Messenger, owner of the first Snooze Mattress Company franchise. “It’s the energy, it’s all of the like-minds that have come together to be a champion of restorative sleep… I’m honored to be the very first franchisee.”
Launched in 2019 by big dreamer Matt Smith, Snooze Mattress Company has rapidly expanded its name in the mattress industry, in terms of franchising, partnership deals, brand loyalty and product range. In addition to its own-brand bedding sets and pillows, the company sells a unique mattress using its proprietary sleep technology.
Smith believes the company’s rapid franchise success is due to its unique brand position, scalable and affordable franchise model and unique timing. Smith and his team have developed Dream Map Technology, using Mayo Clinic research and technology, allowing freedom for the in-store experience to remain informative yet light - all managed by only two full-time floor staff, a disproportionately low staffing requirement for a franchise. In addition, mattress sales have continued to rise during the COVID-19 pandemic; a new report, published by Statista, states that “the global mattress market is expected to grow from about 35 billion U.S. dollars in 2021 to 43 billion dollars by 2024”.
“Buying a mattress is an investment, but that doesn’t mean the experience shouldn’t be fun”, says Smith. “We’ve done the groundwork, so our franchisees and the team can reap the rewards. Our Snooze Dream Mapping Machine uses Mayo Clinic research to help our customers to choose the right mattress for them in a totally unbiased way. The machine recommends a mattress, from any of our partners, the most-trusted brands in the industry, and the customer gets to try out that recommendation in real-time.”
The company believes that the franchisees get more than a turnkey experience, due to the partnerships built from its management team that holds more than 100 years of combined mattress retail experience. On top of its priceless partnerships, franchisees get ongoing training in sales and customer service, yearly conventions, expert marketing advice, as well as free content to use on social media, and the best uniforms around.
“Yes, our sleep coaches wear luxurious and comfortable satin pajamas!” exclaimed Smith when asked about Snooze’s unique uniforms. “That’s part of what makes our brand the success that it is. When a customer visits our store or website based on our expert offering, they buy into our family thanks to their unique experience.
“Our sleep coaches outsell the competition because they are thoughtful and knowledgeable, not because they are pushy - and inturn, we’re recommended to friends and family because our sleep experts sell the right product at the best price… and they have a whole lot of fun doing it. Our franchisees buy into our brand and their community - and the community buys back into the brand thanks to the thoughtful welcome and warm experience we have crafted.”
Snooze Mattress Company has been featured on the Discovery Channel and endorsed by 10m founder and Undercover Billionaire star, Grant Cardone. The brand has awarded franchises to stores in Colorado, Arizona, California, Kentucky and Texas.
