Magnussen Home Announces Management And Executive Position Changes

Magnussen Home announced changes in management and executive positions as part of its growth plan for 2013 and beyond.

“Magnussen Home plans to aggressively grow its business in volume and product categories over the next few years and part of the plan to achieve this growth involves building and developing Magnussen’s management team for the next level of business activity,” says Richard Magnussen, CEO. In order to accomplish this, Magnussen has implemented the following changes in management and executive positions:

Nathan Cressman has been promoted to President of Magnussen Home. Nathan is primarily responsible for establishing the vision of the company, for implementing the strategic plan and overseeing product development and sales and marketing management. Nathan began his career with Magnussen in 1997 as Product Development Manager and since 2009 has been Senior Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Product Development.

Richard Magnussen will remain CEO for Magnussen Home and will continue to focus on building a strong lean management team.

Kent MacFarlane has been promoted to CFO. He will oversee all financial and treasury functions for Magnussen Home as well as Human Resources for North America, administration and corporate governance. Kent Joined Magnussen Home as Vice President of Finance and Administration in July 2009. Prior to joining Magnussen Home, he has had 17 years of experience between KPMG and companies within the tech industry.

Russ Langford, COO retired from Magnussen Home at the end of 2012. “Russ has done a great job developing the team and we are grateful for the vision and passion he has had for Magnussen Home over the past many years,” says Richard Magnussen, CEO. “Russ’s tenacity and focus is greatly appreciated when it comes to special projects and his commitment to the company by relocating to Vietnam during the establishment of the ADC.”

With Russ Langford’s retirement the following changes have been implemented for Magnussen’s PRD division:

Chris Kleine has been promoted to the position of Vice-President of Asia Operations. With the retirement of Russ Langford, Chris will be responsible for all of Asian Management, Product Development, Quality and Administration. Chris has worked for Magnussen for the past 26 years. Chris began working with Magnussen on the factory floor in Canada. He then moved into the Customer Care division, was then promoted 12 years ago to the Quality Control Manager and then 4 years ago was made the PRD/QC manager. Chris currently resides in Vietnam.

Brian Beane has joined Magnussen as the Product Development Manager. He will be responsible for product development and resides in Vietnam. Brian began his experience in the Furniture industry in Procurement Management in 1996 and has continued his career in Import/Project Management in China and Vietnam and has owned and operated an uppemiddle/high end case goods business for most of the 2000s.

For Magnussen’s International division, Christina Sim will continue her role as International Logistics Sr. Manager. Christina will continue to live in Vietnam and she will be responsible for managing all the Asia logistics operations in regards to container programs, sales order processing, ocean freight management, compliance programs, corporate policies and processes, and ADC project liaison for new IT systems. Christina has been with Magnussen Home Furnishings for over 12 years. She joined Magnussen in 2001 working in the Procurement Dept. at the company’s Head Office in New Hamburg, ON, Canada and is now based in Vietnam at Magnussen’s Asian Distribution Center. She has 26 years experience in Logistics, Customer Service and Compliances.

For Magnussen's supply chain division, Mike Eichler has been promoted to Director of Product Demand and Supply. Mike is responsible for total supply of product including factory management, inventory management and working with the sales team to ensure the best available forecast is used for the shipments plan. He will also work closely with Senior Management to plan monthly and yearly projections based on updated requirements and business conditions. Oversee Supply and Demand in both Canadian and Vietnam offices. Mike has been with Magnussen for 8 years in Supply and Demand. He has a total of 17 years of Supply Chain and Operations background in Manufacturing and Importing environments at Magnussen Home, Engel and NCR.
