The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame has opened nominations for the 2023 Home Furnishings Leadership Institute. It will be held Feb. 19 to 23, 2023 at High Point University.
The class is limited to 25 leaders who are under 40 years old and selected based on competitive nominations from across the industry. Nominations close Oct. 31.
“The Institute changes each year with all-new topics and materials relevant to today’s business landscape,” says Karen McNeill, Hall of Fame CEO. “The content planning is almost completed and will be a powerful platform of interaction with inducted members of the Hall of Fame, lively peer discussions, lectures, and group presentations. A critical element of the mission of the Hall of Fame is to inspire a new class of leaders. Through peer learning, the Institute is connecting the industry’s finest emerging leaders with one another as they grow into becoming stronger leaders.”
Based on the prestigious Harvard Business School Seminar for the Young President’s Organization and Chief Executives Organization – attended by many leaders in the industry – the focused tutorial seminars are held each year at High Point University. Participants who attend three institutes will be honored as a Home Furnishings Leadership Institute Fellow and will be awarded a graduation certificate and digital badge. Classes and discussion groups will utilize the new state of the art Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center on the HPU campus. Room and board at the adjoining Jana and Ken Kahn Hotel are included with the $6,000 tuition.
“The keynote interviews with inducted members of the Hall of Fame were highly effective and inspiring last year,” says Caroline Hipple, Hall of Fame Board president and president of Norwalk Furniture. “The inductees themselves found it rewarding to challenge the participants during engaging discussions about difficult decisions that must be made in some of the real-life situations that they have experienced. It was a beautiful example of the impact of meaningful interactions between seasoned leaders and those emerging leaders aspiring to achieve positions in the C-suite. This is what the Hall of Fame is all about: serving as a catalyst for change.”
