Universal Furniture Unveils U/choose Program at Fall Market

Universal Furniture launched a new, design-your-own upholstery offering this fall. The U/CHOOSE program is designed to support retailers with a customizable upholstery product that easily produces a return on investment with a minimal footprint. U/CHOOSE, including all the options, can be shown in as little as 800 square feet.
It previewed at September’s Pre-market to rave reviews from large retailers.
“U/CHOOSE was developed specifically for our retail partners,” said Universal Furniture Senior Vice President of Sales Sean O’Connor. “As Universal’s domestic upholstery offerings continue to develop, it’s important to have a profitable, flexible program that supports the needs of our brick and mortar customers.”
The U/CHOOSE program offers multiple seating categories with five arm options, four leg options, welt or no welt options, and multiple finishes. In addition to the variety of configurations, consumers can choose from more than 500 fabric and leather cover options. All pieces in the U/CHOOSE program are made at the company’s upholstery plant in Conover. Choices include:
Seating Items
- Sofa (80 and 88-inches W), with small scale arm options
- Loveseat
- Chaise
- Swivel chair
- Chair
- Ottoman
- Sleeper sofa
- Sectional
Arm styles (all small scale, 3-4.5 inches wide) – from pleated to padded track
Trim options – welt or no welt
Cushion cores – including an option for spring down
Leg styles – tapered and turned
Leg finishes – seven colorways
