WithIt Opens Mentor Nominations for 2023 WithIt WOW Awards

WithIt, the women’s leadership development network for the home and furnishings industries, reported that it has opened nominations for mentoring in advance of it’s planned 2023 Special Mentoring Edition of the WOW Awards, celebrating and honoring mentors and mentoring programs for home furnishings professionals.

The 2023 WOW Awards Special Mentoring Edition is planned to honor 10 individuals and companies. The event will be held on Friday, April 21st, during the Spring High Point Market.

“Mentoring is one of the cornerstones of WithIt’s mission and honoring great mentors and mentoring programs within companies helps to build women and the human capital in our industry. We wanted to focus our awards in the industry on mentors this year and hope to be able to honor 8 to 10 awardees. We will return to a full slate of awards in January 2024,” says Emily Boyst, 2023 WithIt president and senior director of licensing and special projects for Hooker Furnishings.

Nominations are being accepted for the Mentoring Award, designed to honor an executive or organization that has fostered advocacy, development, or promotion of women in their company.

Everyone in the industry is encouraged to submit nominations for these awards through January 31, 2023. The online submission form can be accessed at http://bit.ly/WOWnominate.

“By focusing solely on mentoring, we are hoping to be able to honor women, men and companies in the industry who are making an impact,” encourages Amy Van Dorp, WithIt’s executive director. “The WOW Awards have already honored twenty individuals and companies for mentoring, but there are always so many deserving nominees.”

The WithIt WOW Awards Program began in 1999 and has honored over 100 finalists and numerous nominees over the past 25 years.
