Tip #4: Leggett & Platt surveyed more than 100 bedding industry retail sales associates (RSAs) as a part of the SexySleep research.
The components manufacturer learned that 80% of RSAs said their company has not given them information or training on how to address sex questions during a sale.
With 87% of RSAs having fielded a sex question during a sale, Leggett & Platt is encouraging the mattress industry to arm RSAs with training or materials. “We need to provide sales people with information, such as a handout, so they don’t have to make it up as they go along. We’re not saying to go out and talk about sex, but at least have a plan in place for when the questions come up. Part of that plan can include using a printable PDF that’s housed on
Ultimate-Hybrid.com,” said Leggett & Platt’s Mark Quinn. To view tips posted to this series visit
