5 Horizons Group Announces Creation of New Strategic Division

Furniture World News Desk on 3/26/2012

5 Horizons Group (5H) announced that it is building on the foundation it has established in the consumer products industry to launch a new division – 5 Horizons Capital & Advisory (5HC&A). The new division offers services to investment firms exploring acquisition or investment opportunities in the consumer product space as well as to consumer product companies in need of financial or operational support.

“Creating this new division is a natural extension given our company’s core competencies and focus within the consumer products industry,” said Kevin Lehrer, managing partner of U.S operations for 5H. “We have identified a need for our expertise in the investment sector, helping investment firms identify risks and opportunities in their target acquisition’s global supply-chain. Additionally, this new division will focus on supporting consumer product companies beyond our core product services (design, sourcing, quality). 5HC&A will focus more on clients’ operational and financial needs -- helping them achieve a new level of growth and profitability.”

As a major part of the expansion of 5H’s specialized line of services, the organization has named Michael Gingrich as Director of 5H Capital & Advisory. He will take on much of the leadership responsibility for the division.

“Big or small, well-known or niche, firms in aggressive acquisition or sale mode often don’t have a team in place internally to navigate the cumbersome due diligence process -- especially when it comes to those that have operations overseas,” said Jonathan Allen, managing partner, Asia operations for 5H. “5H Capital & Advisory provides comprehensive advice and strategic solutions to firms looking to make investments and for product companies focused on growth.”

Gingrich, a Harvard Business School M.B.A., has an extensive background in mergers and acquisitions and asset management for companies in the United States and Europe. In his new role, Gingrich will leverage his global experience to enable both product companies and investment firms alike.

“It is a perfect time in the new economy for 5H to move forward with this well-planned strategy,” said Gingrich. “I am thrilled to be onboard. This is an exciting, fast-paced company with an impressive global footprint.”

5H’s consumer products services division will continue to operate and grow under the joint leadership of Lehrer and Allen, as well as Keri Kiblinger, vice president of product services. The company’s reputation is built on its specialization in product design, global sourcing and development, quality and supply-chain solutions, and global market entry. A growing collection of impressive brand names such as Cabela’s, Restoration Hardware, CR Gibson and Wine Enthusiast fill 5H’s client roster.
