Richard and Catherine Frinier to Receive Lifetime Achievement Awards at IHFI Event

Richard and Catherine Frinier, prominent figures in the Richard Frinier Design Studio in California, will be recognized with Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2024. The International Home Furnishings Industry (IHFI) will bestow these awards in acknowledgment of their sustained support for the City of Hope, a leading research and medical center. The IHFI, established in 1965, includes manufacturers, retailers, sales representatives, suppliers, and associated service providers in the home furnishings sector.

The IHFI's annual fundraising campaign, highlighted by the West Coast Golf and Tennis Tournament in Coto de Caza, California, and a gala dinner in High Point, North Carolina, has been instrumental in raising nearly $100 million for medical research and patient care.

Event Details

The 32nd Annual West Coast Golf & Tennis Tournament, a charity fundraiser to benefit the City of Hope, will take place on June 10, 2024. The Friniers are committed to raising awareness about this event and the City of Hope’s research and medical facilities, which are expanding beyond California. 

Rick Powell, West Coast Event Executive Committee Chair, remarked, “We are incredibly fortunate this year to have giants in their respective fields such as Richard and Catherine Frinier, and also David Binke of King Koil industry icon in the bedding industry whom we will also be honoring, generously give their time, influence and passion to support City of Hope and add to the more than $21 million raised by this event alone over its 32 years."

The Friniers themselves stated, “We invite everyone to join us for this enjoyable one-day charity sports event, auction and fundraiser at the Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club in Southern California this June... We are encouraging and welcoming straight donations where no act of generosity and kindness may be too small or too large and each and every contributions will and does make a difference."

The City of Hope also expressed gratitude, stating, "City of Hope is incredibly honored to bestow this esteemed award onto this trio of remarkable leaders in the furniture industry. These individuals have shown exceptional dedication and leadership, shaping the industry's future. Their outstanding professional and philanthropic contributions will be recognized at this fun-filled and exciting golf and tennis tournament and dinner.”
