Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Expanded Show and Enhanced Buyer Experience

The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF), the largest furniture event in Southeast Asia, is set to commemorate its 30th anniversary with an expanded show that will include two additional exhibit halls.

Scheduled from March 1 to 4, MIFF 2024 will occupy 17 halls across the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), both of which have reached full capacity. The event, organized by Informa Markets Malaysia, anticipates hosting over 20,000 visitors from approximately 140 countries and regions.

The upcoming fair will feature exhibitors from Malaysia and international markets such as China, Hongkong, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, USA, and Vietnam. It will present a diverse range of products and innovative designs, continuing its tradition as the premier export showroom for Malaysian solid wood and office furniture in the region.

MIFF 2024 introduces a new buyer experience with the launch of the MIFF Furniverse App, designed to help attendees navigate the show efficiently. The app will offer essential information on exhibitors, product offerings, booth locations, and special events, facilitating pre-show networking and appointment scheduling through the MIFF website.

A series of perks, including limited edition MIFF gold coins for pre-registered visitors and a customer loyalty program, will enhance the attendee experience. Additionally, a virtual tree planting program will emphasize the fair's commitment to sustainability.

Overseas buyers will benefit from expedited entry at Kuala Lumpur International Airport's special lanes and limousine service vouchers available at MIFF Courtesy Counters. The Valued Visitor Privilege (VVP) Programme offers first-time trade visitors complimentary hotel accommodation on a first-come-first-served basis.

In line with the anniversary celebration, the MIFF Furniture Design Competition, themed “Chair-Volution: Celebrating 30 Years of Innovation and Design,” invites participants to create a chair that embodies the fair's legacy. The competition will culminate with the announcement of winners and exhibitor awards for presentation and furniture excellence during the show.

The fair continues to receive strong support from the Malaysian furniture industry and its Strategic Partner, the Muar Furniture Association (MFA). MFA President Mr. Steve Ong expressed confidence in the fair's potential to showcase a variety of products to international buyers and expand into new markets.

Since its inception in 1995, MIFF has generated cumulative sales of US$18.4 billion and has welcomed 182,000 buyers from across the globe.
