BDI marks a significant milestone this year, celebrating 40 years of crafting architecturally inspired, modern furniture that enhances living spaces.

Bill Becker, an industrial designer and founder of BDI, established the company with the vision to make great design more accessible. Becker's mission was to introduce thoughtfully designed, enduring styles beyond designer showrooms and into a wider audience.   • 1987: The company captured consumer interest with its distinctive mirrors, enhancing spaces with both style and function.
  • 1996: BDI introduced home theater furniture, setting new standards with features tailored for modern electronics.
  • 2009: The Sequel Office line launched, offering modular office furniture with unique tech-friendly features.
  • 2012: Recognizing the trend of mobile workforces, BDI introduced multi-use, mobile laptop surfaces like the Bink collection.
  • 2013: Addressing versatile storage needs, BDI brought to market the Corridor Media + Storage collection.
  • 2023: The LINQ bedroom series was introduced, focusing on connected living with integrated power solutions.
