Italian luxury furniture brand Poltrona Frau is set to open a new flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York City. The store, located in a historic early twentieth-century Art Deco building, spans three levels and covers 19,000 square feet, making it a significant presence in Manhattan's midtown design district.
The flagship store is envisioned as a vibrant center for design exploration, housing Poltrona Frau, Haworth's Lifestyle Design Group, and other brands. It promises to be a space for clients to envision their perfect living spaces with the help of artisanal brands like Ceccotti Collezioni and Officine Gullo, alongside the progressive design brand Cappellini.
Ceccotti Collezioni, renowned for its woodwork craftsmanship, became part of Poltrona Frau's offerings in 2018, aligning solid woodwork with artisanal leather craft. The flagship features pieces such as Roberto Lazzeroni's D.R.D.P. sofa and Bean desk, exemplifying the company's dedication to luxury craftsmanship.
Cappellini, a brand known for its experimental spirit and regarded as a symbol of cutting-edge design, is present in prestigious museums and will be showcased in the store.
Scheduled for May, the store's grand opening will include a kitchen area featuring Officine Gullo, celebrated for its fusion of artisanal skill and innovation in metalwork, and professional kitchen design.
Nicola Coropulis, CEO of Poltrona Frau, stated, "This new flagship represents a pivotal moment in our brand's history, enhancing our ability to cater to our clients' needs and signifying our commitment to growth."
The store's concept, developed by AMDL CIRCLE and led by Michele De Lucchi, is a testament to modularity and the use of materials that facilitate interaction and creativity. It departs from traditional retail formats to offer a more engaging, interactive customer experience.
Michele De Lucchi commented on the retail concept, noting the evolving nature of retail spaces and the store's aim to become a focal point for dialogue and active involvement.
A special highlight of the opening is the limited edition of 50 Lepll Stools, uniquely designed with hand-woven wicker and featuring a Pelle Frau leather belt, combining tradition with modern sensibility.
