Hooker Furniture Taps Into the Archives for Its Latest Home Office Introduction

Furniture World News Desk on 4/9/2024

Hooker Furniture is set to add several new collections to its Work Your WayTM brand, including a new modern-day home office category. Called “The Hub,” the new workstations are part of the company’s 100th anniversary initiatives at the upcoming High Point Market.

Inspired by traditional secretary desks that date back to 17th century – and gained popularity in the 60s through the 90s – pieces tap into the company’s design archives as well as its expertise in the home office category.

“Hooker Furniture has been a long-time leader in the home office category, carving out a very successful niche as early as the 1950s,” said Jenni Jungers, executive vice president of merchandising for Hooker Furniture. “Always on the forefront of understanding home office technology and the ever-evolving needs of consumers, the company has continued to develop products that meld form and function to meet the needs of today’s consumers.

“Offering flexible and multi-use home office functionality – whether it’s a small, dedicated home office used daily, an occasionally-used space in the guest bedroom or a family command center in the kitchen – pieces in our new Hub collection were designed for the next generation of small space home office needs,” she added.

Workstations making their debut in the Hub collection this spring include: Hera, Sonnet and Forrest. Each is designed with a combination of concealed and open storage space as well as integrated desktop worksurfaces that are reminiscent of classic secretaries, updated with styling for today’s homes.

  • Hera – Characterized by its soft modern style, the Hera Hub is crafted with diamond match flame maple veneers. Combined with a clean white almond finish, the group delivers a soft and sophisticated, feminine aesthetic. Coordinating pieces in the Hera collection feature agate-inspired eglomise and satin gold finishes.

  • Sonnet – The textural modern design of the Sonnet Hub is achieved through its Wren finish – a clean, transparent heathered brown hue that celebrates the natural character of its oak veneers and organic woven split cane. Sitting atop tapered metal stretchers in a satin champagne finish, coordinating pieces in the Sonnet collection feature natural stone.

  • Forrest – Presented in a Garden Green finish, the Forrest Hub offers casual traditional styling with its decorative muntin glass display, step moldings, flat bead detail, and a twisted leg base.

Each Hub workstation is part of Hooker Furniture’s Work Your WayTM brand which includes a variety of additional home office pieces designed to easily transition the home into a multi-functional living space with features including printer trays, concealed storage, and pull-out/drop-down work surfaces. The Sonnet collection also includes coordinating bedroom, dining room and occasional pieces.

All pieces will be on display at the Spring High Point Market in Hooker Furnishings’ showroom, located on the third floor of Showplace.
