With the new Eternal Flame sculpture at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame fully installed and set for a lighting ceremony on April 12, now is the ideal time to honor someone with a commemorative brick in the Pathways of Honor that surround the unique High Point landmark. Each brick is etched with a custom message.
The Pathways of Honor is formed by bricks etched with a custom message on the walkways surrounding the Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Inds. Eternal Flame. By buying a brick or two, families, friends and companies will help welcome guests to the commanding entrance of the industry’s new home, destined to be a popular backdrop for selfies sent around the world. The cost is $1,000 per inscribed brick.
“Placing a permanent commemorative brick in the Pathways of Honor is the ideal way to publicly honor those special people and companies in your life who impacted you in untold ways,” says Karen McNeill, CEO and chairman of the Hall of Fame Board of Directors. “It is a chance to visibly acknowledge those who believed in you, encouraged you or opened a door that was the key to where you are now — individuals such as a mentor, a co-worker or a boss, or a company or family who paved the way for you.”
The Pathways of Honor are located outside the entrance to the Hall of Fame building and surround the Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries Eternal Flame. A gas-burning attraction that will flicker brightly day and night, the Eternal Flame will serve as a reminder of the enduring nature of the home furnishings industry and the unique position that the home and furnishings hold for the world. The newly completed Eternal Flame sculpture will be lit for the first time at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12 in a dedication ceremony being held in front of the Hall of Fame building.

“It is the privilege of our noble industry to improve lives by creating beautiful homes,” McNeill says. “People will always have homes and always need furnishings. The Pathways of Honor offers a way for individuals in our industry to honor someone for all time and express appreciation for the contributions that person made or the help they provided.”
