Independent bedding manufacturer Gold Bond reports that its premium mattresses featuring
high-end white ticking are standing out on retail floors, attracting more consumer interest compared to the darker,
more colorful designs many producers have introduced in recent years. This trend has contributed to a rise in sales
of Gold Bond’s luxury Private Reserve collection, which is wrapped in a sleek "wedding dress white"
cover.
“If you’ve been in a mattress store lately, you’ll notice a lot of dark, patterned
designs—everything has shifted to grays and blacks,” said Gold Bond CEO Robert Naboicheck. “We
countered that trend with Private Reserve, choosing an elegant white ‘wedding dress’ look.
Dealers are telling us that in a sea of dark and dreary mattresses, these white ones stand out and have a magnetic
curb appeal.”
Naboicheck noted that white has long been associated with "light, goodness, innocence, and purity," which aligns with
the preferences of luxury consumers.
Luxury Components and Design
The Private Reserve collection offers premium spring, foam, and latex options that are designed for maximum
support and comfort. The line features Leggett & Platt’s 1950 Zoned Quantum Coil unit, one of the
highest-quality coils available. In addition, the collection includes components such as zoned nano coils,
Carpenter’s Aurora spring-like foam for enhanced airflow, and Talalay organic latex in the higher-end models.
The top three mattresses in the collection boast an impressive 5,208 coils each.
All mattresses in the collection are two-sided, adjustable base-friendly, and wrapped in a 100-percent Belgium rayon
damask cover produced by Bekaert. The Private Reserve collection offers luxury bedding options priced
between $2,000 and $3,000 in queen size, making it one of the more affordable options within the luxury bedding
market.
“Consumers are investing in luxury sleep products that provide the ultimate comfort and support,” added
Naboicheck. “The Private Reserve collection brings together some of the latest innovations in luxury
sleep, offering durability and performance that will last for decades.”
For retailers seeking more variety, Gold Bond also offers the option of adding colorful ticking to the Private
Reserve line, catering to specific dealer preferences.
