North American furniture distributor Coaster Fine Furniture has tapped industry veteran
Mindy (Morton) Leitwein as national accounts manager, a new position for the company.
With more than two decades in business development, Leitwein is tasked with business growth across Coaster’s
distribution network, a role she is uniquely prepared for given her previous experiences in the industry.
She got her start as a major account executive with her family’s rep firm and ultimately took over the
business. One of its clients was Ashley Furniture, and the company helped launch what became a national
division in alternate channels for the brand. At its height, Leitwein, who called on mass merchants and big boxes,
managed a $50 million budget and grew key accounts by 20 percent year over year.
Later, as a
vice president of Powell Furniture, Leitwein managed key accounts across seven states, and was responsible for in
both brick-and-mortar stores and pure-play eCommerce sites, where she drove 200 percent sales growth for partners
through effective pricing, promotion, sku management and compliance initiatives which reduced chargebacks and
boosted profitability. Most recently, she led sales and relationship-building for a B2C consumer electronics
distributor, and successfully launched new vendor programs across 1,700-plus stores.
“Leitwein’s deep experience makes her ideally suited to drive growth at retail, because she intimately
understands the unique challenges dealers face whether they are small independents or national accounts,” said
Crystal Nguyen, vice president of merchandise and strategic product planning at Coaster. “She is both process
oriented and strategic, and she has demonstrated throughout her career that she knows how to put numbers on the
board. We are thrilled she has joined the Coaster team.”
“Coaster is uniquely positioned in the industry right now. It is a strong, well-managed partner to
retailers. From our breadth of product including its look and high-quality, right down to the exceptional
organization of their data and mature supply chain, Coaster has the answers dealers need now to make a real
difference in their businesses,” Leitwein said.
Leitwein received her bachelor’s degree in history from Earham College in Richmond, IN and received her MBA
from Ohio State University.
She resides in Columbus with her husband.
