Skyline Furniture Manufacturing, a 75-year-old family-owned furniture company, has announced the
appointment of Meganne Wecker as its new CEO. Wecker, who previously served as President and Chief Creative Officer,
succeeds her father, Ted Wecker, in leading the company.
Founded in 1946 by Norm Wecker, Skyline has a long history of adapting to market demands. Ted Wecker joined the
company in 1971, steering its focus toward the direct-mail furniture market. The father-and-son team introduced a
model that allowed customers to order custom-made upholstered goods through catalogs, with products crafted on
demand and shipped directly to their homes.
In the early 2000s, Meganne joined her father at Skyline and helped transform its supply chain to align with the rise
of e-commerce. Together, they positioned the company for significant growth during the online shopping boom,
blending fashion-forward design with advanced manufacturing capabilities. In 2016, Skyline became the first company
to digitally print textiles in-house, further solidifying its reputation for innovation and efficiency in the
furniture industry.
This leadership transition follows Meganne’s acquisition of a majority stake in the business, making Skyline a
female-owned company. Ted Wecker will continue his involvement as CEO Emeritus, while Trent Steed, formerly Executive Vice President, has been promoted to President.
