Fusion Designs, a U.S.-based manufacturer of solid wood case goods, will showcase a return to its high-end roots with four new dining collections at the Winter Las Vegas Market. Highlighting soft contemporary designs, these collections combine craftsmanship with enhanced comfort and updated styling.

The new introductions will be displayed in Space B670 and are designed to meet growing consumer demand for soft contemporary aesthetics. “Our dealers continue to look to us for the kind of higher-end, hand-crafted and custom-finished products on which we built the company, and they are not afraid of price,” said Marcus Bontrager, president of Fusion Designs. “It’s important that we stay out in front in terms of the styles and trends that consumers want most now.”

New Dining Collections

Among the new collections is Melbourne, crafted from rustic white oak with a 96-inch solid top table featuring molded curves and a mortise-and-tenon stretcher base. The set includes six upholstered dining chairs and a hutch with hardware made from solid wood. The Melbourne collection is available in any of the company’s 35 finishes, with four additional finishes being tested during the market. Suggested retail price: $12,000.

The Mila collection, made from brown maple, features an 84-inch table available in an oatmeal finish and two hutch options: one with built-in wine storage and the other designed for general storage and display. The six fully upholstered chairs in this set are covered in performance fabric. Suggested retail price: $9,000 for the table, one hutch, and six chairs.

Two smaller-scale options include:

  • Theo: A 48-inch round table made from brown maple, shown in a Harbor Gray finish, paired with upholstered chairs.
  • Bennett: Another 48-inch round table crafted in oak with a natural finish, paired with chairs in an onyx finish.
Suggested retail price for both collections: $5,000 for a table and four chairs.

Responding to Design Trends

Fusion Designs conducted dealer surveys earlier this year that revealed a shift in consumer preferences toward soft contemporary styles. “An overwhelming amount of the results told us that consumers appear to be undergoing a very discernable change in design preferences, and they are seeking out more soft contemporary styles,” Bontrager said. “We expect this change to become even more obvious in the year ahead as business begins picking up again.”

Bontrager also noted an increasing emphasis on comfort in dining chairs. “With that in mind, we’ve been steadily expanding our capabilities in upholstery, with more to come.”

Fusion Designs’ new collections reflect the company’s focus on meeting consumer preferences while maintaining its tradition of quality craftsmanship.
