Furniture World News Desk on 1/17/2025

Employees of the Ashley family of companies (Ashley) raised nearly $144,000 in 2024 through the company’s “Dollar a Week” program, a long-standing initiative that allows employees to make weekly contributions to selected charities. Since its inception over 21 years ago, the program has enabled Ashley employees to donate more than $2 million to non-profit organizations, making a positive impact in the communities where they work and live.

The 2024 contributions supported several organizations, including Ashley’s Angels, Hope to Dream, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), and others.

2024 Donations at a Glance

  • $31,596 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping cover 4,157 “No More Chemo” parties for patients.
  • $9,692 to Ronald McDonald House Charities, providing nearly 97 one-night stays for patients and their families.
  • $30,436 to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, supporting lifesaving treatments for over 100 patients.

“I can't say enough about how incredible the ‘Dollar a Week’ program is,” said Cheryl Shaffer, an Ashley employee. “My heart absolutely overflows knowing that each week, my small contribution helps bring joy to children through both Ashley's Angels and St. Jude. Such a tiny amount makes such a meaningful difference, and honestly, I feel so joyful by giving.”

Through the “Dollar a Week” program, Ashley employees elect to donate small weekly amounts to various charities. The program’s collective contributions demonstrate how incremental giving can create a significant impact.

“The ‘Dollar a Week’ program exemplifies what makes Ashley special – it is about coming together to make a difference in our communities,” said Todd Wanek, President and CEO of Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC. “Together, our employees show that small contributions, when combined, can create meaningful change in the lives of those who need it most.”

Ashley remains committed to empowering employees to support charitable causes and to giving back to the communities it serves.
