Englander Appoints Lou Paige as New President and CEO

Englander as announced the appointment of Lou Paige as its new president and CEO. With 35 years of experience in the mattress industry, Paige will focus on capturing greater market share among regional retailers through product differentiation and enhanced customer service.

“When it comes to mattress manufacturers, regional chains are sandwiched between large brands who have a host of their own business challenges and smaller independents who may struggle to meet production, delivery, and customer service goals,” said Paige. “Englander is in a sweet spot because of our 14 plants with nationwide coverage and a tailored licensee structure that can efficiently and effectively serve their needs.”

Paige’s Industry Experience

Paige brings extensive industry expertise to Englander. He spent 15 years at Serta, serving in key leadership roles, including Vice President of Key Accounts, Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising for the Serta Sleepmaster division, and Managing Director of International Licensee Relations and Development. His career also includes senior sales and marketing positions at FXI, Restonic, and Wright Labels.

“Lou is the full package – an experienced sales and marketing professional who has strong contacts and is well respected for his insight and knowledge of our industry,” said Stuart Carlitz, a member of Englander’s board of directors. “If we had gone to central casting looking for the next leader of Englander, Lou’s name would have been first on the list.”

Immediate Plans

In his first 100 days, Paige plans to meet with licensees and customers to identify immediate sales opportunities. His priorities include refining the brand message, enhancing the company’s market presentation, and expanding the licensee organization internationally.

“Englander has a tremendous opportunity for further growth domestically, and certainly internationally. I am looking forward to meeting our sales reps and customers at the Las Vegas Market and sharing my initial thoughts and vision on what Englander can deliver for them,” Paige added.
