Coaster Fine Furniture Introduces California Coastal Staycation-Inspired Collections at Winter Market

Furniture World News Desk on 1/21/2025

Coaster Fine Furniture will debut several exclusive collections at the Winter Market in Las Vegas, all inspired by the staycation trend and the contemporary California coastal aesthetic. These new designs reflect the growing consumer desire to make home a relaxing, spa-like retreat.

The collections, featured in Coaster’s showroom (A800-801), emphasize natural materials such as cane, finely woven rattan, grass cloth, and warm, light finishes including beige oak, sand wash, and white oak veneer. These elements are paired with textured, linen-like fabrics and ‘70s-inspired silhouettes to create a relaxed, modern look.

One highlight is the Kailani Collection, an exclusive Coaster design. This dining room collection features cane-back chairs, a trestle table, and a tall, arched Vitrine Cabinet. The pieces blend beige oak with resin cane, brushed gold hardware, and contemporary silhouettes while offering ample storage. “Kailani marries the yin and yang of a weathered wood finish with a contemporary silhouette,” said Crystal Nguyen, vice president of merchandise and strategic product planning at Coaster.

“Consumers see their homes as the place they most want to escape to, and retailers need to translate the staycation attitude for them as this trend continues to gain momentum,” Nguyen added. “It’s not necessary to live on the coast to gravitate toward this relaxed, chill vibe.”

Additional Coastal-Inspired Collections

Bexhill Bedroom Collection: This modern coastal collection features curved case goods and raffia-cloth wrapped drawer fronts in a true white painted finish, delivering an understated yet elegant style.

Arini Bedroom Collection: A Coaster bestseller, the Arini collection highlights natural and organic elements with rounded corners, wire-brushed black wood frames, aged brass legs, and a choice of bed styles in rattan or gray upholstery.

Nguyen emphasized the versatility and scale of these designs, noting that the Vitrine Cabinet from the Kailani collection offers a larger size than many similar arched cases on the market.

“These are not the out-of-the-box KD [knock-down] pieces that people used to associate with Coaster,” said Nguyen. “We continue to level up by exploring new ideas and materials across various price points, delivering tangible value to our customers.”

She further noted that Coaster caters to a broad range of needs: “If you want solid wood and have the budget for it, Coaster has it. If you’re looking for a great look at a more affordable price, we have that too, with excellent construction, quality, and finish. Our goal is to provide options that are successful for retailers at all price points and volumes.”
