Wayfair Introduces "Wayfair Verified" to Streamline Online Home Shopping

Wayfair Inc. has announced the launch of Wayfair Verified, a new program intended to help shoppers
identify select products that meet internal benchmarks for quality, customer satisfaction, and value. The initiative
is designed to provide greater clarity and confidence for customers navigating Wayfair’s extensive online
catalog.
"We know that shopping for home products online can be overwhelming—customers shouldn't have to guess if a sofa
is comfortable or a table is sturdy," said Jon Blotner, president of commercial and operations at Wayfair. "With
Wayfair Verified, we do the testing so they don't have to—sitting on sofas, assembling furniture, and
evaluating every detail—so shoppers can feel confident, knowing we stand behind every selection."
According to the company, Wayfair Verified identifies products that are highly rated by customers, offer competitive
value, and maintain low return and damage rates. Products selected for the program are only sourced from vetted
supplier partners.
Each Wayfair Verified product undergoes a five-step evaluation process:
- Packaging & Assembly Assessment – Packaging is reviewed for quality, compliance,
clarity of instructions, and ease of assembly.
- Comprehensive Quality Audit – Product details are verified against category-specific
quality standards.
- Qualitative Quality Review – Items are tested for factors such as comfort, materials, and
stability.
- Value Determination – Products are evaluated to determine whether overall value aligns
with pricing.
- Verified Treatment – Verified products receive additional content, including custom
videos and product highlights created by Wayfair’s product specialists.
The Wayfair Verified program was highlighted at Shoptalk Spring 2025, where Blotner and Liza
Lefkowski, Wayfair’s vice president of curation, brands, and stores, spoke about its role in enhancing
the online shopping experience.
