Recently in Boston, Bernie & Phyl's Furniture received the Comcast Spotlight Hall of Fame Award at the 2014 Family Business Association Awards for Massachusetts, given to a business for its longevity, excellence and achievements.

The company, founded in 1983 by Bernie Rubin, was selected as an example of a Mass.-family business "dedicated to good corporate citizenship and outstanding business practices."

The Family Business Association is a non-profit organization created to honor family businesses and recognize excellence at its annual awards program.
