Barbara Goldstein, Former GMFA Executive Director Passes

The Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association reported that Barbara Goldstein, former Executive Director of the Greater New York Home Furnishings Association (GNYHFA) passed away after a long struggle with cancer.
She joined GNYHFA (the NY chapter of IHFRA) in 1995 and served the organization composed of furniture retailers, reps, manufacturers and industry suppliers with distinction until 2010.
GNYHFA subsequently merged with the NJ-based Metropolitan Furnishings Association (MFA) to form the Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association (GMFA).
In addition to her passion for the furniture industry, she was active in a number of charitable organizations, most notably serving as Chairman Emeritus of Leave out Violence LOVE US. LOVE US was created to reduce and help eliminate violence in the lives of youth and their communities by initiating a movement of youth spokespeople who communicate a message of non-violence.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence Goldstein, her children Daniel, Jared, Dara, and their families.
