IHFRA Elects Frank Lorenzo As 77th President

IHFRA reported that Frank J. Lorenzo has been elected the 77th President of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association (IHFRA). Frank has been active in IHFRA for many years as a member of IHFRA’s Florida Chapter.

Frank’s family migrated from Cuba in 1962 running from the Castro regime. He joined his family furniture business in 1984 as a floor sales representative. In 1986 he became an independent sales representative for several small local furniture factories. After a few years as an independent sales representative he joined Coaster Company in 1988. He continued his pursuit to grow in the furniture industry by joining Ashley Furniture as a sub-sales representative around 1989. While representing Ashley he focused on expanding the rapidly growing Hispanic furniture market in South Florida.

In 1993 Frank Lorenzo joined Michael Amini representing AICO in South Florida. In these 22 years, Frank’s relationship with Michael Amini and AICO has continued to grow stronger and stronger. AICO is part of Frank’s family.

Furniture Today featured Frank in the 2004 edition of “Road Warriors.” During his long career in the furniture industry, he has had the opportunity to meet many influential people. He is appreciative of all those who have been instrumental in helping him achieve a successful and rewarding career in the furniture industry.

Frank and his wife Ofelia have five children. Three of Frank’s children are working with him in the furniture industry.

In addition to Frank Lorenzo serving as IHFRA’s 77th President, IHFRA’s 2015-2016 slate of officers include: Matt Keepers, member at-large, as Chairman of the Board; 1st Vice-President Geoff Weed, Midwest Furniture Club, 2nd Vice-President Tommy Leflein, Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association and Tri-State Chapter, and Al David, Secretary/Treasurer, HFR of Michigan Chapter.
