• imm cologne is a leading European trade fair for the mattress industry
• Exhibitor party on Tuesday of the fair will be the industry event once more
imm cologne reported that the mattress industry will be coming to the imm cologne show this January. According to
Arne Petersen, Vice President of Koelnmesse, "imm cologne is the most important trade fair for the German and European mattress industries. Not only is the fair the industry get-together where trade visitors inform themselves about what’s new on the market, but on the days open to the public, the event also reaches interested consumers. The sleep is the segment is where new innovations are showcased. For this reason, it comes as no surprise that Hall 9 is already fully booked, well before the beginning of the fair.
"The average German sleeps just over seven hours per night, meaning one spends more time in bed than on the sofa or cooking. Therefore it is with good reason that consumers invest in mattress and bed systems suited to their individual needs. This trend is clearly reflected in the number of applications to imm cologne, where mattress and bed manufacturers can reach both trade visitors and consumers."
In addition to important industry leaders, such as Tempur, Hilding Anders, Rummel Matratzen, Badenia, Diamona, F.A.N. Oschmann and Kreamat, many new exhibitors, among them Swissbedding, Saffron Beds and Gruppo Industriale Buoninfante will also be present at imm cologne. Recticel/Schlaraffia, Auping, Fey & Co., Profine and JOKA are making their way to imm cologne once more.
Located in the centre of Hall 9, as every year, the German Trade Association of the Mattress Industry will be hosting the Sleep Lounge. The association’s director, Dr Ulrich Leifeld, sees the lounge as an ideal complement to the exhibitors’ stands: “It is our goal to inform and not to sell, something the fair visitors appreciate. The Sleep Lounge therefore constitutes a kind of network. One meets with suppliers, customers and competitors to exchange ideas on neutral ground, so to speak. This promotes communication and provides for a good atmosphere”. The quality of the informative programme, as well as the meet@sleep party on the Tuesday of the fair, serve as yet another draw for visitors. meet@sleep, already an established tradition, is the industry event at which manufacturers, suppliers and business owners can exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere.
From 18 to 24 January 2016, Cologne will be the trend barometer for the international furnishing world. Visitors and media may look forward to the many interesting companies and exciting product innovations.
