Ashley HomeStore recently announced that it has celebrated the official grand opening of its 30,000 square foot showroom on Wednesday, March 16th located in the Oyster Point section at 11971 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA.

The ribbon cutting ceremony featured Newport News Mayor McKinley Price and was emceed by WAVY-TV Morning Anchor, and Peninsula resident, Don Roberts. Other dignitaries participated in the grand opening celebration included: Delegate Marcia Price, Assistant City Manager Cindy Rohlf, Fire Chief Robert Alley, Councilwomen Sharon Scott, Patricia Woodbury and Tina Vick along with Director of Development Florence Kingston and Vice-Chairman of the Planning Commission Mark Mulvaney. Many business leaders and guests attended the ribbon cutting as well.

The Ashley HomeStore, located across from Jefferson Lab, will have approximately 25 employees. This will be GrandBrands Furniture third location in Hampton Roads, and the newest of more than 600 Ashley HomeStores worldwide. The store boasts the new logo, trend-setting style and merchandising techniques, home accents galore as well as an updated Dream Destination area featuring a huge bedding gallery exhibiting popular mattress lines Tempurpedic, Sealy and Ashley Sleep™, one of the fastest growing mattress brands in the world.

There were drawings throughout the day and continues on through the weekend for valuable $100 Ashley HomeStore gift cards. During the 6 p.m. ceremony, as part of A Hope to Dream, Ashley HomeStore Newport News announced their 30 beds in 30 nights initiative, beginning April 1, 2016 featuring Tempur-Pedic mattresses for children in need.
