Leflein Elected 79th President of IHFRA

Tommy Leflein has been elected the 79th President of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association. He was inducted this month at IHFRA’s annual Board of Directors Meeting in High Point.
Leflein’s career began in 1974 while working in his family’s furniture store in New Jersey, Thomas Furniture Company. In 1976, he became a sales representative for Thomasville Furniture for New York and New Jersey territory. He served as a sales representative for Pennsylvania House from 1983-1993, and represented Row Furniture from 1993-2003. As he has progressed in his career he has worked for Benchcraft/Berkline, Lifestyle California, and Nico Home (division of Nourison) as Vice-President of Sales.
A long-time member of IHFRA, Tommy has also served in executive positions with the Tri-State Chapter and Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association. He was award the Charles B Costar Dean of IHFRA Award, as well as the Howard Liveright Memorial Award, the highest honor for outstanding contributions to the furniture industry presented to him by the Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association. Tommy is also an active member of The Golden Slipper Club and Charity of Philadelphia serving under-privileged children, the poor, homeless, and elderly and is a member of the City of Hope Executive Board for the Northeast.
Other IHFRA officers chosen at the March Board of Directors include Geoff Weed, Midwest Furniture Club, Chairman of the Board, Al David, Home Furnishings Association of Michigan, First Vice-President, Jon Schulman, Home Furnishings Representatives Guild of Southern California, Second Vice-President, and John Pinion IV, at-large member, as secretary/treasurer. Harrison Rose, Midwest Furniture Club, will serve as head of IHFRA’s Membership Committee.
