Harris Kirsch To Receive GMFA’s Representative of the Year Award

The Greater Metropolitan Home Furnishings Association (GMFA) announced that Harris Kirsch has been chosen to receive the GMFA Representative of the Year Award.

Retailers, manufacturers, representatives and industry suppliers will gather to honor  Harris Kirsch this November at the Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association’s Dinner and Dance on November 17th, 2018. The annual event, a festive kick-off to the holiday season will be held at The Palisadium, Cliffside Park, NJ. The venue is  just minutes from the George Washington Bridge.

Harris has served the home furnishings industry as an independent representative in the NY / NJ area since 1987. He is a long-time member of the Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Association (GMFA) and its predecessor organization GNYHFA.  Harris is the current  Executive Vice President for GMFA.  His philosophy in business has always been to treat his customers and the factories he represents with respect, professionalism, and passion.

The Representative of the Year Award honors a retailer in the NY/NJ metro area who has distinguished himself or herself in words and deeds. The awards committee considers the personal character, business accomplishments, innovation, charitableness, and how candidates interact with their customers, employees and suppliers.

“For more than 30 years,” noted Russell Bienenstock, Editorial Director/CEO of Furniture World Magazine, “Harris Kirsch has given his time, energy, ideas and material resources in service to the furniture industry of New York and New Jersey.” His honesty, integrity and humanity are well known to his customers, and also to those of us who have served with him on the GMFA and GNYHFA Boards.”  

In thanking the GMFA, Harris stated, “It’s a great feeling to be recognized by my peers with GMFA’s Retailer of the Year Award.  I look forward to celebrating on November 17th with Karen, Eugene and the many friends we’ve made over the course of our careers,  on November 17th.”
