Leading youth manufacturer Powell Co. announced that it has made a substantial commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation with another fundraising activity during High Point Market and recognition for its dealers participating in a national network of charitable giving.
Last October, Powell worked closely with the foundation and its customers to create a national dealer network whereby retailers from across the nation can fulfill furniture-specific wishes as they come up, working through their local Make-A-Wish® chapters.
Three wishes have been granted to date and over 30 Powell dealers are now participating in the program:

PowellKIDS™ kicks off spring Market with “Rock the Wish,” a special Wii Guitar Hero competition held in the company’s showroom on the ground floor of the National building. In keeping with the debut of PowellKIDS™ “Rock and Roll” youth furnishings, local ‘tweens and teens will be on hand Saturday, April 25th, to show the big kids how its done.
Throughout the Market dates, dealers will be encouraged to test their chops for the nonprofit organization whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. For each song completed on the Wii, Powell Co. will donate $25 to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Photos of dealers brave enough to channel the rock greats will be added to the PowellKIDS™ Rock and Roll Wall of Fame.
