Retailbuyers.com, the exclusive home furnishings and giftware industry’s online overstock shopping site announced that it is offering free hosting to new customers in an effort to expand their services to new markets while helping those manufacturers move “dead” inventory during this economic downturn. Vendors and suppliers who are experiencing slow sales, have discontinued merchandise, or simply have excess inventory in their warehouse can register on the Retailbuyers.com website and have their hosting fee of $99 waived for the remainder of the year.
The format for the site is the same, in which registration allows a seller to list unlimited product information along with photography. Retailbuyers.com receives a small commission on orders shipped. Registration has been open to any manufacturer of home furnishings, gifts and decorative accessories, accents, rugs, or other home décor products across North America, but site founder Debbie Lalande is encouraging other product categories that would benefit from this type of service, such as jewelry, apparel, specialty items, electronics, and other markets to give it a try. More than 2,800 retailers are currently registered (retailer registration is free) and are e-blasted weekly with “Deals of the Week.” Lalande stated, “Our retailers are steadily looking for great deals, and we hope by waiving our fee it will encourage new suppliers to offer a wider variety of merchandise for our buyers. Our free hosting for suppliers will result in a win-win for suppliers and retailers during this challenging business climate.”
The Canadian-based group began by providing services to giftware suppliers in Canada. Today, the web site is dedicated to providing a unique wholesale shopping experience for home furnishings and gift retailers throughout North America to purchase suppliers’ overstock, clearance, and discontinued merchandise. Retailbuyers.com continues to gain popularity with retailers and suppliers looking for unique opportunities to sell their products.
